ANOTHER PRICE CUT: Now HP's TouchPad Is $100 Cheaper Than The iPad

Just a few days after HP knocked $50 off the 16 GB TouchPad if you already had a Palm smartphone, it’s doubling the discount.

The 16 GB TouchPad will cost $399, this weekend only, PreCentral reports.

That makes the TouchPad $100 cheaper than the cheapest iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Staples is offering its own $100 discount on the 32 GB TouchPad model, bringing the price down to $499.

Evidently, HP hasn’t been moving a lot of TouchPads. Even with the stellar update that came this week that made that TouchPad a whole lot snappier, there’s no changing the fact that it just isn’t as thin or shiny as an iPad 2 or Galaxy Tab.
