HP has come a long way from its August announcement that it was “exiting the hardware business.” Now it’s giving its Slatetablet some upgrades and putting a $700 price tag on it.The Slate 2 comes with a new Intel Atom Oak Trail Z670 processor, a zippy 64 GB mSATA drive, and a Swype keyboard. It will keep its original 8.9 inch form factor and will still run Windows 7.

It’s a minor update, to be sure, but HP still managed to bump the battery life from 2 hours to 6 hours. The tablet is available for purchase now.
