Did you get a new iPad but have no idea where to start? This guide will get you up and running in no time.

From creating reminders to making bookmarks to rearranging icons, here’s everything you need to know to get comfortable with your new tablet.

Let's make the Calendar and Contacts icon change places

Tap and hold down on the Contacts icon -- notice how everything starts to jiggle? This means you can move icons around

Move the icons such that they change places and press the home button -- your new layout is complete

If you want to create a folder, repeat the process, but instead of having the icons swap places, drag one on top of the other and a folder is automatically created. You can name it whatever you like

To install new apps, launch the App Store

The home screen of the App Store is designed to make it easy to discover new apps to install, but if you already know what you want, you can search for it too

Let's install Twitter

And it begins downloading right away

When the download is complete, the icon is no longer grayed out

What happens if you come across an image in a web page that you'd like to save to your iPad?

If you start up your Photos app...

...you'll see that it's been stored to your device

If you tap the curvy arrow in the top right, you have several options on how to share the picture

If you find yourself visiting the same site over and over, you'll probably want to bookmark it to make it easier to find in the future

You can customise how you'd like it to appear

Now when you tap the glasses icon, your bookmarks list displays and you have access to your favourite sites

Let's fire up the Settings app

When a flight attendant tells you to turn off electronic devices, flip the switch for aeroplane Mode in the top left

A list of available Bluetooth devices will appear and you can connect to them as you like

Start up iTunes to go shopping for music and movies

Let's find some Beatles

Let's tap on Abbey Road to view a track listing

iTunes offers a nice selection of movies as well

Let's start up the Contacts app

And it's blank. Let's add a contact by clicking on the plus sign

Fill out the necessary information

Wait for it to connect...

...and you're FaceTiming!

If you want access to your iCloud settings, tap on the Settings app

Tap on iCloud and sign in with your Apple ID

Here you can see how much cloud storage space you have. You can sync your iPad's settings, apps, music, photos, etc. to iCloud. Flick the switch at the bottom on.

Tapping OK in this window will start the backup process

The calendar has options for multiple views -- here's the weekly view

And here's the daily view -- let's add an appointment by tapping the plus sign in the bottom right

And the appointment is created

And here's how that appointment looks in the monthly view

The Reminders app lets you create an intelligent to-do list that hassles you to complete items -- tap the plus sign to create an item

Give the item a name

If you want a reminder, activate the option

Set the date and time you want to be reminded

Start up the Photo Booth app to have some fun. Tap the square icon in the bottom left

This lets you select different effects to run your camera through

Resulting in ridiculous pictures like this
