You don’t just want any iPhone. You want that iPhone.
You know the one. For me, it was an iPhone 6S Plus in space grey with 64GB of storage. For you, it might be the rose gold iPhone 6S with 128GB of storage, or some other configuration.
If you haven’t had any luck finding the iPhone of your dreams, don’t fret. There’s a way to get that iPhone you want — today.
This process works if you want to buy your phone outright and unlocked through Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program or in a two-year plan with any of the four major carriers: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
Visit the iPhone section of the website. Click 'Buy.' (Or click on the phone you want from the menu options, then click 'Buy.' Same difference.)
Once you pick a store, Apple will provide a grid of options: iPhones that are still available will be highlighted, while the unavailable iPhone models will look faded.
In other words, your best chance to find the iPhone of your dreams will be completing this process at or around 8 a.m., every single morning (including weekends), until you find the one you want.
If the iPhone you want isn't in stock at 8 a.m., don't despair! Apple Stores regularly update their online stock throughout the day as new shipments arrive, customers return their phones, or don't show up to their own appointments. So keep refreshing this reservation page! (It worked for me!)
Once you find the iPhone you want, Apple will tell you the next available reservation time. According to an Apple Store employee, this reservation time doesn't really matter. Just show up at some point that same day.
Once you enter your Apple ID and password, just choose how many phones you want to reserve, confirm your check-in window (again, the time doesn't really matter), then click 'Confirm Reservation' at the bottom of the page.
You're all set! But keep in mind: You must pick up your phone on the day you make the reservation. Otherwise you'll need to do this process all over again whenever you eventually decide to buy the phone.
