If you want, Facebook will send you an email every time one of your friends has a birthday. But if you have a lot of them, that could get annoying.A Facebook app called fdCal can link your friends’ birthdays and events to your Google Calendar so you can set up your own notifications over email or SMS.

How To Geek has a more complex way to set up automatic reminders for all your friends using fdCal, but we prefer to choose which friends get pushed to our inbox or phone.

Here’s a quick walkthrough for syncing your Facebook friends’ birthdays to your Google Calendar and selecting which ones you want to be reminded of.

To get started, head over to fdCal’s home page.
