NBA Player Charged With Battery After Throwing A Basketball At Female Referee

Houston Rockets point guard Kyle Lowry is being charged with misdemeanour battery of a female referee after he had a nasty confrontation with her during a charity basketball game in Las Vegas in September.Infini Robinson, the woman accusing Lowry, was refereeing a game between NBA players during the lockout.

Here are the details of the alleged altercation, from My Fox Houston (via ProBasketball Talk):

The declaration of warrant/summons said, “At the end of the game, Lowry approached the victim and threw a basketball at her striking her in her torso. The victim picked up the basketball and tossed it back at Lowry. Lowry became upset and stated, ‘B****, meet me outside. I will kick you’re a**’.”

Neither Lowry nor the Rockets are commenting on the situation. If convicted, he could face up to six months in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.
