Job requirements:John Cox, a retired US Airways captain and aviation safety consultant, told USA Today in 2016 that you don’t always need a degree to be an airline pilot. Some airlines require it while others don’t.
Cox recommends getting a degree because it will give you more job opportunities. For example, Delta requires its pilots to have a degree, and while Jet Blue does not, its website says that it prefers pilot candidates who do.

Job requirements:According to the Federal Aviation Administration, applicants can apply with “three years of progressively responsible work experience” in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Job requirements:A 2020 study by Guidant Financial suggests that 30% of small business owners have a high school degree or GED. In 2017, a SurveyMonkey study found that the number of small-business owners with a high-school education is actually higher than the number with college degrees.

Miller, a content marketer. They say being proactive about finding work and having confidence in your work are hugely important to success in freelance.

Job requirements:Gradually moving up in a company can eventually lead to a CEO position for companies like Google and Hilton, who have dropped “college degree” from their hiring requirements, Glassdoor reported in 2020.
Large commercial farmer
Salary: $US192,500 (average net cash farm income for a specialty crop farmer from the U.S. Department of Agriculture)
Job requirements: To become any kind of farmer, you typically need a high school diploma or GED and experience working in the field, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics.
Salary: Ranges between $US250,000 and $US1.5 million (Kent Moyer, the founder of the World Protection Group, told ABC News in 2013)
One-off events can pay up to $US1,000 per day while mobile bodyguards can make up to $US800,000 a year (Vanity Fair reported in 2016)
Job requirements:Most security guard jobs require a high school diploma or GED, the U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics reported.
In 2017, Business Insider spoke to three bodyguards from the firm Intelligent Protection, a U.K.-based firm that deploys bodyguards for billionaires, celebrities, executives, and other notable people around the world. They said that the effectiveness of a bodyguard comes more from their communication skills than their size.

Forbes reported that the top gamer of 2019, Tyler Blevins, made $US17 million.
Job requirements:Unsurprisingly, to be a pro gamer, you have to be good at video games. Entrepreneur published an op-ed by Mujahid Rupani, co-founder and CEO of a gaming company called Cbox gaming, in 2018. In the article, Rupani said being a pro gamer takes killer reflexes and hand-eye coordination, as well as in-depth knowledge of the game they’re playing, practicing at least 12 hours each day.
Nuclear power operator
Salary: $US100,990 (annual average salary from the U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics)
Job requirements:The U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics says that most power plant operators need a high-school diploma combined with on-the-job training.
