Check Out The Abandoned Parts of Ellis Island That Tourists Never See

Ellis Island‘s main building is one of the most sought-after tourist destinations.

But much of the island’s been abandoned since the institution closed in 1954 and is now decaying. Nick Carr at ScoutingNY.com revealed photos of the massive compound that extends to the centre of the island.

He was kind enough to share some of the photos with us. Check out his full collection here.
