Reviews for Nokia’s Lumia 900 have been so-so.My review was lukewarm, at best.
But oh boy! Who knew there were so many rabid Windows Phone fans out there? Since my review and followup post published, I’ve been absolutely ripped to shreds by commenters. I even got an angry 500-word email this morning demanding I retract my Lumia 900 review.
I’m not the only reviewer feeling the heat though. It looks like the Verge’s Joshua Topolsky is getting smacked around a lot more than I am. I’m hearing the same from others who gave the Lumia 900 a “meh” in their reviews.
Still, I thought I’d share a tweet I got from a Windows Phone developer this morning. It was in response to this one I wrote saying I was getting a lot of angry messages from Windows Phone fans:
@stevekovach As a wp7 developer I can say that you wrote excelent post(s) about Lumia. There will always be 1% of angry fans. Ignore them.

Good advice. From this moment on, I will.
I don’t think Windows Phone is going to die any time soon. As my colleague Matt Rosoff said, Microsoft can’t afford to fall behind in mobile. It’s going to keep pumping money into Windows Phone 7 until something clicks.
