Who says there are no cushy jobs in journalism anymore?
In addition to the new golden age of news, which has resulted in reported salaries of $300,000-$500,000 for print newspaper veterans making the jump to digital, there’s now a new opportunity out there.
The richest and most powerful media company in the world, Bloomberg LLC, is about to go into the op-ed business. And some of the company’s op-eds will be the opinions of Bloomberg LLC founder Michael Bloomberg, who is also the mayor of New York and a possible 2012 presidential candidate.
But Mayor Mike doesn’t have any time to write the opinions himself, of course, so he’s hiring journalists to do it. For salaries of nearly $500,000 a year!
