Herman Cain just wrapped a segment on “The View.”
He looked pretty cool and collected for a presidential hopeful taking his first “View” grilling — so cool and collected that some of the stuff he said didn’t immediately sound as clunky as it actually was.
Among the soundbites nearly masked by his aplomb:
Barbara Walters: You admit that you don’t know much about foreign policy.
Cain: Not anymore.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck: Do you stand by that statement [that 2/3 of black Americans were brainwashed into voting for Obama]?
Cain: I absolutely do and here’s why… the good news is, a lot of black Americans are thinking for themselves. Now, there are some that are so brainwashed that they won’t even consider a conservative idea.
Joy Behar: I want to ask you about your position on gay marriage…
Cain: Are we changing topics now?
Behar: I think that you believe being gay is a choice?
Behar: To think that gay is a choice… why would you choose that?
Cain: Well, you show me the science that says that it’s not, and I could be persuaded.
There’s a whole lot of 999 talk in there too, which wasn’t exactly an audience rouser. Full interview below.
