Long, somewhat predictable, discussion about Herman Cain‘s predicament this morning on Morning Joe.
Joe Scarborough thinks Cain made a “fool of himself” yesterday and that his shifting recall of events was clearly proof he was lying.
Which isn’t surprising. Scarborough has been bemoaning the rise of Cain for weeks now. He is quickly becoming the best example of how the media is missing the Herman Cain phenomenon in the same way they missed Occupy Wall St. in the early days of the protests.
Cain is appealing simply because not only is he not following the rules, he doesn’t care that there’s a rule book — and the public has reached a level of frustration and anger with Washington such that they are apparently happy to see that rule book done away with.
But it was Mika who made the more relevant point. Namely, can we expect other women to come forward with similar complaints (none have)? And until they do, and considering the two women who took money to stay quiet can’t talk, it’s probably too soon to jump to conclusions.
