Everything you hear about Wall Street these days is all about doom and gloom. But we here at Clusterstock like to look at the lighter side of things. That’s why we were so glad when we heard from Jesse Marrus, President of StreetID, a financial career matchmaking firm that brings banks and bankers together.
Marrus gave us the low down on who’s got the job openings on Wall Street at the moment:
In fact, there are a lot of financial firms that are hiring right now – you just have to look for them. JPMorgan Chase, for example… is easily one of the brightest spots on Wall Street. Granted, a large number of those positions are devoted to the firm’s consumer bank division…But with nearly 200 job openings…JPMorgan Chase still ranks as one of the financial sector’s biggest employers.
Thankfully, JP Morgan isn’t alone. Heavy hitters like Goldman Sachs, BlackRock and UBS are hiring in certain divisions as well. You’ll see demand especially in wealth management and investment banking.
So buck up, take these hints, and start your search.
How many openings do they have?: 156
Where are the openings?: Investment management (trading, research, portfolio management, etc.), operations, accounting, auditing, and corporate strategy, among other (less financial) positions, such as analytics
How many openings do they have?: Almost 200
Where are the openings?: Asset and wealth management, more than 200 openings in the area of investment banking, and a smattering of other available positions (including 14 openings in auditing and 17 openings in corporate finance)
