Here's A Radical Re-Imagining Of Microsoft's Brand Around A Simpler Design

Microsoft is in the middle of a radical transition.It appears to be abandoning the business model that once made it the most valuable tech company in the world. It’s redesigning Windows to look totally different.

To match these major changes, designer Andrew Kim seems to think it should consider a re-branding effort. As an experiment he gave himself three days to think up branding for the “next Microsoft.”

What follows is the result. It’s a much simpler look.

(To be clear, this is not an official project for Microsoft, it’s just one guy reimagining Microsoft’s brand. We thought it was pretty neat and saw it tweeted around, so we’re running it with his permission. All commentary is ours.)

He thinks the products are great, but the marketing is not

This is his idea for a new logo. It's used for the Surface tablet, but it's versatile.
