Here Is The Anti-Twitter: Post Your Thoughts Once Per Year

If you’re tired of the constant stream of status updates and 140-character bits of information, go to this page and sign up for a mailing list called The Best Thing This Year.

It will let you post one thing per year to the entire mailing list. Just one thing. So you better think very, very carefully.

The idea is to answer the question “if you could only speak once a year, what would you say?”

The site was created by Dan Shapiro, a Seattle entrepreneur. He sold his most recent startup, a product search engine called Sparkbuy, to Google only six months after founding it. (He still works for Google.)

GeekWire reports that this is just an experiment, not a new startup or product. But sort of like Jeff Bezos’s 10,000-year clock, it’s meant to get people to think about the longer-term.

Sign up now and you’ll be able to post on the day the list kicks off. Sign up later, and you’ll have to wait.
