iOS developers dream of getting their app featured in Apple’s App Store or having it spotlighted during one of the company’s developer conferences. Much of this is out of the developer’s control, but there is one way to improve your chances of getting Apple’s attention: focus on building an app that relates to one of Apple’s newest features.
“Using new stuff immediately definitely gives you a shot at getting someone’s attention at Apple,” Matt Drance, a former Apple engineer who worked as part of the company’s developer relations team, told Business Insider.
Drance points to Apple’s new mapping application as one such opportunity.
“Apple is probably going to be very interested in highlighting transit apps at their next event,” he said. “So that’s not too hard a crystal ball to read.”
