Harry Teinowitz, the host of “The Afternoon Saloon” on ESPN 1000 in Illinois, was arrested on Friday night and charged with DUI when he blew a .131 on a breathalyzer. The Illinois legal limit is .08. Teinowitz was also charged with improper lane usage and had his driver’s licence taken away.
Last year, Teinowitz was kicked out of the Chicago White Sox clubhouse after angering the team with his inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour.
Teinowitz is the latest in a string of ESPN announcers that have run into trouble. In December, Ron Franklin was fired from the network for allegedly making sexist comments, and last week Howard Bryant was charged with domestic assault.
Just a reminder, the juicy book on the inner workings of ESPN, “Those Guys Have All The Fun,” comes out on May 24th.
