Case manufacturer Hard Candy is already churning out 50,000 iPhone 5 cases to fit a device with a 4.44-inch screen, according to Cult Of Mac.Hard Candy says it got the specs for the case from three independent sources. It’s that same thin, tapered design with a large home button we’ve been seeing all over the place lately.

Still, Hard Candy has no guarantee that Apple will announce such a device today, so cranking out 50,000 cases for a rumoured iPhone is a big gamble.

Cult Of Mac also speculates this could be for a redesigned iPod Touch, but we haven’t seen any evidence of that so far.
