HabitForge is our new favourite tool to curb senseless spending, stick to a budget and keep the weight off. Just sign up at HabitForge.com and tell the site what you’re trying to do. You’ll phrase your goal in a question that’ll be emailed to you each morning, then you’ll get an email asking whether you packed your own lunch or did 30 minutes of a cardio with a Yes/No option.
Your yes or no answer will be used to track your progress (and send that oh-so subtle reminder that you’ve got some work to do). At the end of the 21-day cycle, you’ll receive an email telling you whether you accomplished your goal.
If you’re really looking to up the ante (or guilt), go a step further and tell HabitForge what the positive outcome of your new habit would be—i.e., padding your retirement nest egg, paying off credit card debt—or the negative outcome if you happen to fail at it. Every three days, the site will send your responses to help nudge you along.
The site is free to join to form one new habit, but if you’re looking to overhaul your life, you might want to shell out the $9.95 for a yearly membership.
