Google to launch Limited Edition Beer - URKontinent

Yes, you got that right. Our favourite search engine, has decided on brewing a small batch of limited edition beer. And unlike a namesake beer which would only have a Google logo on it, this beer actually involves the complete co-operation as well as a serious effort from Google staffers. Providing the know how shall be craft beer pioneer – Dogfish Head resulting in a beer that has been named as the URKontinent. The name URKontinent is inspired from the original super-continent that predates even Pangaea.

Thousands of Google employees across the glove were surveyed for their preferences and what they would like to see in a Google beer. Finally, a smaller dedicated team from the big G worked with Dogfish Head to refine the concept, create the recipe and finally start getting the ingredients (no mean task – just keep reading) and finally brew the concoction that they had come up with.

The exotic ingredients that the geniuses at Google suggested (and which made their way into the final recipe) included wattle seed from Australia, amaranth from South America, green rooibos from Africa and myrica gale from Europe to name a few. They even got in Honey from the Hive-Plex! The end result looks like a strange mix of a dark brew that we are almost afraid to recommend. However here is what URKontinent has to say for the brew – .The careful combination of all these ingredients creates a complex dark Belgian style ale with wonderful coffee and chocolate covered cherry flavours. The roastiness of the malt and wattleseed melds with the fruity esters from the yeast, the floral notes from the rooibos, and the malty yet dry signature of a Belgian Dubbel. .Have a look at the video for more.

If you are still convinced, that its a magic potion which shall give you Googlish super powers to take on the world then you will need to hurry to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver where the beer is available for tasting (but in draft form only). The company has not yet fixed dates and quantity for producing the bottled version.

Well, at least you know where to head to for hangover advice – Google of course!
