Google’s X Lab is in the late prototype stage of building some impressive sunglasses, reports 9to5Google.The sunglasses resemble Oakley Thumps (pictured to the right) and will have a front-facing camera that can take pictures and make use of augmented reality apps.
They will also have a heads-up display on one side that could overlay relevant information on top of the real world, a la Terminator.
Users will be able to interact with the glasses via voice and head tilt, and its internals will be comparable to a previous generation Android phone. This will be nice, because the glasses will also function as a smartphone.
It will not be an Android peripheral, however, though it might make use of a phone’s Internet connection.
