Google Is About To Steal Apple's WWDC Spotlight

Google is holding an event pertaining to its reinvented Maps product on June 6, almost a week before Apple’s huge developer conference, WWDC, on June 11.The Next Web points out the interesting timing — Apple is expected to unveil a new mapping product that doesn’t use Google at all, but it looks like Google is about to beat the company to the punch and reveal its own new and improved Maps.

The event invitation makes a reference to “helping people get where they want to go…virtually,” which has many believing that Google will reveal some sort of 3D map solution.
