CBS Sports is reporting that the NBA owners have informed the players union that they will be locked out when the CBA expires tonight at midnight. The two sides negotiated for three hours today, but are nowhere near a deal on a new agreement.

The last lockout wiped out have the 1998-99 season and it was years before the league fully recovered.

This one – following one of the most highly-watched season in league history – could last even longer. And do even more damage.
