Gold and silver are getting crushed

Gold and silver are getting crushed.

On Tuesday morning, gold fell more than 1%, or about $US15 an ounce, to around $US1,157.30.

Silver fell more than 3% to around $US15.16 an ounce.

Other precious metals are also trading weaker. Platinum dipped nearly 2%, or about $US20.50 an ounce, to around $US1,045.80. Copper fell more than 4%.
