Here Comes The Gmail Facelift We've Been Waiting For

The new version of Gmail is starting to roll out today.

Google accidentally released a video showing the new features last week, then quickly pulled it. Today they officially unveiled the changes on the Gmail blog.

The new Gmail features brighter colours, larger tabs for conversations (including a picture of the other participants where one is available), and a drop down search bar, among other changes.

One cool feature that didn’t leak: new high-definition themes with imagery provided by iStockphoto.

All Gmail users will eventually get the new look, but if you’re anxious to try it as soon as possible, look for a little “Switch to the new look” link on lower right hand side of your Gmail inbox.
