Uber, the personal driver startup in San Francisco and New York City, is rapidly gaining popularity.We’re told one wealthy songwriter in New York City spends $1,500 per week on Uber!
Celebrities are beginning to rave about the startup too. Glee’s Harry Shum Jr (aka Mike Chang) tweeted that he “tried ubercab” and “it was awesome!!”
Even comedian Dave Chappelle is a fan. Square’s Director of Products tweeted, “Hanging out with @davechapelle. he loves @Square and @Uber!”
DJ Sir Mix-A-Lot, who recently found his way into NY startup Turntable.fm, is pulling for Uber to launch in Seattle too. “My posse’s on Broadway with @uber_seattle. Sup guys” he tweeted with a picture (above).
