Supermodel Gigi Hadid is all over the place, from headline-grabbing fashion campaigns to her pop star boyfriend’s music videos. And we can’t help but notice her perfectly sculpted arms everywhere we look.
Hadid’s personal trainer, Andrea Orbeck, told INSIDER that the model incorporates boxing in her workouts.
The compound exercise covers so many bases, leaving people with arms that are impeccably toned.
“The thing about boxing is that not only does it get the heart rate up and burn so many calories to show the muscle, you also use your biceps, triceps and shoulders when you do the movements,” Orbeck told INSIDER.
The trainer’s go-to boxing circuit is challenge, but easy to do on your own.
Orbeck’s other celebrity clients, which also include Emma Roberts and Heidi Klum, are big fans of boxing as well. “I incorporate it in all of my circuits, because it really is so effective,” Orbeck said.
Her clients put on their gloves, and then do one to two minute intervals of crosses, jabs, hooks and undercuts, followed by 30-second bursts as boxing as fast as they can.
The trainer then has them do 30 squats, or wrap their legs around a hanging ball and do sit ups.
“You’d see results within two weeks if you did 30 minutes of boxing, three times a week for sure,” she said.
But before you take up boxing, you need to first learn the basics.
Orbeck recommends first-time boxers try out a cardio boxing class, to learn the proper form and also to receive guidance on different types of moves.
“Form is really important. It’s crucial to have someone show you. Take time to invest in a class, and they also show you other things to do with the boxing circuit,” Orbeck said.
After you’ve perfected your form through one or two instructional classes, you can go off and box on your own, the trainer added.
