Germany Wants To Ban Anyone With Alcohol In Their System From Driving

Three quarters of those asked in a recent poll by a German newspaper want an absolute ban on drink driving, reports The Local.The poll was conducted by the popular Bild am Sonntag newspaper, and found that 77% of those surveyed wanted the the level of blood alcohol allowed set to 0%.

Germany has tried to crack down on drink driving before. In 2007, the government noticed a worrying trend of 18-30 year olds dying in alcohol related accidents. In response it implemented a zero tolerance policy on alcohol towards all drivers who had a licence for less than two years, according to reports from Deutsche Welle.
