George Zimmerman, who shot and killed Trayvon Martin on February 26th, has been represented by Craig Sonner, who has never dealt with a homicide case.
Sonner is now most famous for skipping out of an appearance on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show on MSNBC. (O’Donnell responded by lecturing the empty chair.)
But according to the Orlando Sentinel, while Sonner will remain the lead attorney on the case, he will be joined by Hal Uhrig, who is best known in Florida for providing legal analysis on the Casey Anthony trial for WOFL-Channel 35.
Zimmerman’s legal team is hoping to discourage any prosecutor from even bringing a case against their client. But it is obvious that Zimmerman wants to be prepared in case he is charged with murder or manslaughter.
