Geithner Tells The Banks: The Administration Will "Prevail" Over You

Tim Geithner was on Erin Burnett’s new show last night, talking banking regs.He didn’t break that much ground.

The most important thing is that he really framed the fight over Dodd-Frank (debit card fees, etc.) as a battle, and he used the word “prevail”.

“We are going to push back harder,” he said. “And in the end, we are going to prevail because what we are doing is a reasonable, sensible thing.”

Add in the recent comments from Obama on the BofA debit card fee, and you can surmise that the relationship between The White House and the financial sector has basically hit a new low.
