It's Hilarious That Futures Are Higher

Confused monkey

Futures are a tad higher, but actually the fact that they’re higher at all this morning is quite hilarious.

Why? Because last night the details of the “opening offer” from The White House in the Fiscal Cliff debate were revealed. And the GOP screamed bloody murder, and media pundits talked about how it represented how the White House wasn’t willing to compromise.

And yet: Markets snooze.

At one point the markets may suddenly freak out over the cliff, and the lack of progress, but right now there’s a huge disconnect between how politicians and pundits are talking about it, and how the market is reacting to it.
