Futures, Dollar Surging After Leaders Announce "Deal"

At this hour, Obama, McConnell, Harry Reid, and John Boehner are all on the same page, with a debt ceiling “deal” that would avert default.

Of course, our system doesn’t work on 4 people agreeing to a deal. We still need to see votes, but regardless, markets like the news.

The Nikkei is higher, US futures are higher, and the dollar (against the yen shown here) is surging.
