When is high fashion inappropriate?
Perhaps when the model is a 10-year-old with a spread in Vogue Paris looking anything but childish (via New York Daily News).
French model Thylane Loubry Blondeau is stirring up controversy with her provocative ensemble, which includes skin-tight couture pieces, high stilettos and a pout popular in the modelling industry.
Paul Paul Miller, associate professor of psychology at Arizona State University in Phoenix, tells ABC News:
“The research clearly shows that the fashion industry affects girls and women’s images of themselves and their self-esteem if they do not meet the industry ‘image’ that is currently in vogue. Even the very young are quite conscious of media images of what is ‘pretty’ and desirable.”
