The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Dodgers owner Frank McCourt has been given a $1.2 billion offer to sell the team. The all-cash bid comes from Bill Burke, the founder of the Los Angeles Marathon, who is leading a group of Chinese investors.
If he accepted, that price would set a record for the most expensive sale of Major League Baseball team.
McCourt has said in the past that he has no interest in selling the team, but as his fight with MLB continues to drag on he mind the offer to be attractive enough to cut his losses and walk away rich.
