Francois Hollande To London: 'I Am Not Dangerous'

Francois Hollande was in London today, apparently hoping to lay claim to the 300,000 French expats there, and perhaps also calm the nerves of Europe’s financial capital.”I am not dangerous,” The Telegraph reports him as saying — probably aware that his comments on a top 75% tax bracket and about his enemy being “the world of finance” haven’t endeared him to the city.

Of course, some wonder if Hollande, even with his contempt for finance, might really be the best choice for the UK. Labour MP Denis McShane has written an article for Comment Is Free arguing that they should hope Hollande wins — because he’s not Merkozy.
