MISS: French Manufacturing PMI Sinks To A 38-Month Low

French manufacturing PMI fell to 43.4, a 38-month low.This was worse than the 43.6 economists were looking for.  It was also down from 45.2 in June.

A reading below 50 signals contraction in the industry.

Key points from Markit:

  • Output and new orders fall at sharper rates
  • Fastest drop in employment since September 2009
  • Input prices decline at steepest pace for almost three years
