Today, launched Fox Sports Flash, a live daily sports news report hosted by sportscasters Barry LeBrock and Jill Arrington.

As The Wrap notes, the online show is part of’s strategy to get a piece of’s stronghold in online sports coverage.

Will it work?

Probably not. The biggest appeal of is its streaming of actual events, not discussion-based news. But it does seem like a good move for Fox Sports.

According to The Wrap, this integration between TV and the web will allow advertisers to “buy ads in a single show, a group of shows, or a combination of Fox Sports television programming and digital shows.”

In other words,’s programming will directly reflect the content airing on its TV channel, and it will be easier to sell ads.
