The former Goldman intern and Morgan Stanley banker turned chef and Iron Chef judge, Judy Joo, just earned her new restaurant, Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Club, a rave review in Bloomberg. You know what that means. Looks like the Playboy Club bunnies aced their Wall Street broker-type maths tests.
As Joo explained earlier this year, the Club had to find bunnies who were both smart and sexy. So they were given maths tests to ensure their skills were akin to “City broker.”
She said: “The whole thing about being a Playboy bunny is not just about being a pretty face with a rocking body: It’s about having a personality. These bunnies are going through many different types of tests, even maths, to get a position, so they’re looking for a well-rounded individual who is smart.”
Looks like they found them!
The Bloomberg reviewer who just reviewed the restaurant said it’s so good he’ll be dreaming about it.
Here’s what Bloomberg says:
Cost? 2,200 pounds. [You have to be a member, and it’s 1,000 pounds ($1,600) to join, plus 1,200 pounds a year.]
Sound level? [Like Starbucks]
Inside tip? Don’t bother the bunnies.
Special feature? Women dressed as rabbits. [They dance!]
Will I be back? In my dreams.
Date place? There are too many distractions.
Rating? *** [First class of its kind.]
A few choice selections from the menu: Caesar salad, oysters, lobster roll, a macaroni & cheese with truffle and ceps, a side of duck disco fries, tacos filled with bulgogi and kimchi, Jap Chae (noodles) with soy, garlic and sesame dressing, the “Snickers:” peanut parfait, salted butter caramel, chocolate mousse, praline and the New York Style Cheesecake with English rhubarb.
