In a burst of nostalgia, it looks like luxury train travel is back in style.

The Greenbrier, an award-winning resort in West Virginia, recently announced plans for a luxury train to transport guests from Washington, DC at a cost of around $650 for a roundtrip ticket.

And China just unveiled its design for a luxury high-speed rail from Beijing to Shanghai with fully reclining seats and uniformed stewards.

We’ve put together a list of other great train rides that offer unmatched luxury, incredible scenery, or both.

Maybe getting there really is half the fun.
