The Tampa Bay Buccanneers are the only NFL team unable to avoid a blackout this week.As Pro Football Talk notes, that number is helped by the NFL schedulers choosing to give the Raiders a bye this week.
This is the tenth blackout of the season – on pace to surpass last year’s 22 blackouts, which marked a five-year high.
It’s hard to blame the local fans for this one. The Bucs host the same St. Louis Rams that recently lost by 38 points to perennial doormats, the Detroit Lions. Overall, the Rams sit at 3-3, while the Bucs enter Sunday 3-2.
This marks the fourth Tampa Bay blackout in four games. Last week they couldn’t sell out the stadium even though the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints came to town.
