Footage captured by the SpaceX launch sparked a huge debate about flat Earth theory

Twitter/@ElonMusk

This morning Elon Musk launched a Tesla Roadster into space using the Falcon Heavy rocket.

A dummy driver named “Starman” wearing a SpaceX spacesuit pilots the car, as it speeds towards Mars to gather information about its orbit.

As Starman heads towards Mars, it’s taken some stunning footage of the earth.

In the footage, it’s easy to see the curvature of the Earth.

And it’s sparking a fight on Twitter about flat Earth theory.

There are many people (including doctors) who believe that the Earth is flat.

Many phenomenon prove that flat Earth theory is wrong, including the presence of gravity.

But that’s not stopping Twitter users from blasting flat Earth believers.

Here are some of the best reactions to the footage captured by Starman:

There’s sarcasm aplenty.

Flat Earth believers on Twitter have hit back, saying the photos are fake.

It’s not clear whether this Tweeter is being ironic or really believes in flat Earth theory, but this tweet is funny either way.
