Despite widespread foreclosure in the Sunshine State, more people in the United States are interested in moving to Florida than moving out–implying a strong housing demand, according to a new report from real estate website Trulia.
Based on home searches on the website, Trulia calculated inbound-to-outbound ratios for metro areas in the U.S., looking at the number of incoming property searches by out-of-towners and the number of outgoing property searches by locals looking to leave.
Of the top 10 metro areas where the ratio favours inbound searches, seven are in Florida, as are the top four. Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, FL, scored the highest ratio of 8.80, meaning the number of inbound searches was 8.80 times more than the number of outbound searches.
