The first official photo of two-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis embodying Abe Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, for Steven Spielberg‘s upcoming historical drama “Lincoln” was just released by Entertainment Weekly.
The picture confirms what we knew from the paparazzi photos last year—that Day-Lewis has nailed the look.
Spielberg has said that the movie takes place during the final four months of Lincoln’s life as he fights to maintain the outlawing of slavery.
He also appears to be taking in a show at a theatre in this pic from EW…
To stay in character, Day-Lewis was referred to as “Mr. President” on set, according to EW. Will “four score and seven years ago” be the new “I drink your milkshake?” Your move, John Hawkes and Joaquin Phoenix.
“Lincoln” is due out November 9.
