After a fire gutted the legendary Pavilion nightclub at The Pines on Fire Island last year, the owners have unveiled plans for an even bigger and better version they say will be ready in time for the 2013 season. The 8,000-square-foot Pavilion will feature a raised deck, two terraces, a dance floor, bar, stores, and even a wedding chapel, according to New York City’s Hollwich Kushner, LLC, the firm behind the rebuild.

The Pines, a gay-friendly summer haven on Fire Island off the coast of Long Island, is accessible by ferry and known for its party scene and A-list crowd.

The November 2011 fire also burned LaFountaine’s, a landmark building in The Pines that included the Sip n’ Twirl disco club and several restaurants and office buildings.

A plan for the proposed building. Every part of the Pavilion will be connected by a looping staircase in the middle.

The two-story wooden complex will be connected to Fire Island's boardwalk.

Enjoy the beauty of Fire Island from the Pavilion's terraces.

Grab a drink with friends at the second-story bar.

The pavilion is expected to be finished next summer, so hop on the ferry and see it for yourself.
