UPDATE: Reports of one dead, 16 injured according to Michael van Poppel.
ORIGINAL: Rescue efforts are underway to free an unknown amount of people trapped after the roof of a collapsed stadium in the Netherlands, The Guardian reports.
It is suspected two support beams buckled at FC Twente’s De Grolsch Veste Stadium during construction. At least 5 people are reported hurt, according to the BBC.
A police spokesperson told The Guardian:
We do not have many details at the moment, the only thing we can say is that we have quite a big situation. Part of the tribune has collapsed, so we have some people beneath it and we have got some people [police officers] there at the moment.
