Facebook stock FALLS IN SHARESPOST TRADING

Only a dollar has changed since the last auction in Facebook stock on SharesPost. In the auction completed July 29, 2011, 150,000 shares in the privately held social media company changed hands at a final clearing price of $34 per share, according to a SharesPost email revealed to Inside Investor Relations overnight.

In the last SharesPost auction, held on July 19, 2011, Facebook cleared at $35 a share, with 150,000 shares traded.

The slight dip in Facebook stock is likely not material, as it is still illiquid, and infrequent trading doesn’t necessarily reflect how investors would respond to a Facebook IPO. That said, LinkedIn‘s SharesPost-determined valuation served as something of a starting point, and the company surged when traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The same happened with Pandora.
