Facebook is working on a new iPad messaging app and an updated iPhone app, reports 9to5Mac.
Expect a native iPad version of its text-based Messenger app, which will function pretty much exactly the same way as its iPhone app.
Users can participate in group chats, see a friend’s location on a map, get push notifications, and more.
We can also expect an updated iPhone app that offers Skype video chat support. 9to5Mac got to test-drive it and reported that “performance was smooth most of the time.”
Facebook will eventually make its mobile app a universal binary for both iPad and iPhone, but for the time being, the company is developing them separately.
