Facebook cofounder Chris Hughes has purchased The New Republic, a magazine that’s almost 100 years old and has been struggling to be relevant.It’s not exactly the sort of purchase you’d expect from a 28-year-old tech mogul, but he says he’s hoping to produce a high quality magazine with rigorous journalism.

We’ll see how it goes. Choire Sicha at The Awl has some good advice for him on how to run the magazine.
