A resignation email that alleged sexual favours were rife in the European Parliament has reportedly been deleted from the inboxes of staff overnight, writes Jon Worth. Some 5,000 people received the email, which was addressed to Secretary General of the European Parliament Klaus Welle, and Freddy Drexler, Welle’s Head of Cabinet and it has even been deleted if users put it in separate folders. The European parliament has also apparently set up a crude filter to prevent users forwarding the email.
As Worth notes, this is NOT how to handle a crisis of this sort. By deleting the email they’ve only made the entire thing more interesting.
In light of that, here is the (alleged) email via Guido Fawkes, translated with the help of his Twitter followers:
Dear Secrétaire général,
So I’ve taken the decision to resign from the PE [European Parliament] because I’ve learned some funny things about you. In effect, it would seem that you are fucking █████ and that also, you are eating the pussies of ████, ████ and ████. Don’t you think that’s shameful? These women hold interesting positions and even though others are qualified, we remain blocked. Little █████ is even a civil servant but she has never passed the course. █████ has never passed a course and she is █████████, and she has been at the PE for 10 years. So, if it’s necessary to suck the SG’s [Secrétaire Général] cock to get a position, it’s truly fucking disgusting.
It’s the same thing for the mother ██████, she’s had a child by the old ████████ ████████ and she is the SGA. [Secrétaire Général’s Assistant]
So have a good return to parliament after your well deserved holiday.
Faithful servant of Princess L (AKA the Slut Princess)
UPDATE: The European Parliament reached out to say that they strongly deny all allegations in the email, and no one is working in illegal circumstances at the European Parliament.
They also wish to make clear that the e-mail was deleted from the system completely legally, after consulting with a data protection supervisor. They say that the email was slanderous and sent from a collective email address.
