All the attention’s been on the new iPhone. But if you have an iPad, downloading some new apps is a great way to make it feel brand-new. And it’s been a busy month for iPad app developers.If you fancy yourself an offbeat musician, you need Scape. If you’re an avid YouTuber, you’ll want to try Jasmine, since the new, official iPad-optimised YouTube app from Google isn’t out yet.

And if you hate those Angry Birds (they’reĀ still angry?), you need Bad Piggies.

Brian Eno has taken to making interesting music apps, and Scape is his latest. It's a generative music controller that never makes the same sound twice.

Jasmine is the best way to watch YouTube

Jasmine is a YouTube client that's beautiful and easy to use. It offers a bunch of functionality other apps don't have, like the ability to remember your place in longer videos and to stream a video's audio in the background.

Would you rather play as the bad guys? Rovio lets you build crafty vehicles for the pigs in an attempt to steal the birds' eggs this time.

Twitter got a makeover

Twitter's Web client got a makeover to include a Facebook-style cover image. The iPad app has been updated to reflect that as well, and also includes support for inline image viewing.

Consumr is for shopper-warriors

Consumr is already a great app for doing comparison shopping and reading product review simply by scanning a barcode. But now it's the first-ever app with Pinterest integration, meaning you can post to your pinboards right from inside the app.

Travelocity for the jetsetters

The new-and-improved Travelocity app offers some new features to make it easier than before to book travel arrangements. Save a list of favourite hotels, revisit recent search history, and save details of your booked flights for later reference.

Paper is for artists and designers

If you want your iPad to be a sketchbook, Paper is the app for you. This latest update adds all kinds of functionality, such as the ability to move pages around inside of a notebook, duplicate pages, and easily add pages so you never hit the end of a journal.
